A deck, a lawn chair, and a citronella candle....

So if you were to judge this post by the title it sounds pretty nice, unfortunately, while trying to enjoy this beautiful night my mind is full of negatives. I'm going to take a moment here and try and turn my thinking around.......
June 7th was the 2 year anniversary of losing my dad. (A lot of times it's hard to see the positives even though I know they are true. But I had 22 years with a wonderful, hardworking, Christian father who loved me and set an amazing example for me. And who now resides in heaven with Jesus where I will one day get to join them forever:)
Last week we had ankle-deep water in our basement. (Nothing of great value to us was lost, so that's a positive thing I guess.) Yesterday I hit a deer with the van we've owned for 3 weeks. (No one was hurt, a positive right?)
Tonight, while dining out which we rarely do anymore, someone backed into the van we've owned for 3 weeks and 1 day and took off without leaving a note or anything. (Again, no one was hurt and it is only a worldly possession, so a positive right?)
Then while RJ was busy on the phone with the insurance company, I ran into get groceries with Emma and she had 2 meltdowns resulting in me skipping a good amount of the groceries we needed just to get out of that store! (A positive? Emma is a beautiful, healthy toddler.)
So we now have 2 large deductibles to pay, a pretty substantial need for a generator, along with; windows in the house that need replacing pretty badly, a new front door, (ours is hanging on by a thread), and medical bills that still need paid off. (Ok, help me out, what are the positives here?)........
We have a roof over our heads and a healthy daughter of our very own sleeping inside. Ahhh.....now I'm starting to feel a little better:) We have our health and our safety along with many other things that a lot of people go without.
For this I am SO thankful!
I will just ask that you keep us in your prayers as we try to get through the financial struggles of this life and keep our focus on our everlasting treasure which is in heaven with Jesus Christ!
