Prayer request for my Mama

This update is a request for prayer and the lifting up of Emma's Gramma. My mom had an accident last wednesday night while helping with the ponies. She's got a banged up face, which is healing up nicely, but more importantly is her arm. She was told in the ER that it was broken and that it would heal up nicely on it's own. Monday she went to see an orthopedic who told her that the doctor at the ER clearly had no idea of how bad her injury was. The break was actually up in her shoulder and would DEFINITELY need surgery. She had a long day yesterday of more doctors and more tests to prep her for surgery and will be undergoing the procedure sometime this week. I ask that you pray for relief from the pain, a successful surgery, and peace for her through this whole ordeal. It's been a tough year on our family already, and while God is seeing us through, it wears on each of us heavily. Summer is always a busy time with lots going on, and we pray for mom's sake and ours that her recovery is a quick one.
Thank you in advance for each of your prayers!

Monday, Monday.....

Happy Monday everyone!
I'm feeling quite accomplished this morning:) Emma woke up around 6 to eat after going to bed at 9:30 and then was back to bed till about 8 to eat a little more. Then we cheated and napped together till around 10;P Got her dressed and she played on the floor while mommy picked up the house and started some laundry. Then she happily moved to her bouncer while mommy took a shower and got herself ready! This feels so good to me! Most days I have to wait until daddy gets home to get my shower;) Slowly but surely we're figuring this all out.....:)
Today is Miss Emma's 3 month check-up with Dr. Wehr, I can hardly believe it! And yet I can't remember life without her! She's changing so much already:
-she almost always sleeps through the night till 6:30ish
-she's enjoying her swing, bouncer, and exersaucer soooo much more and can occupy herself for awhile
-she's jabbering a lot too! Tons of coo's, squeals, and other noises ( I can't wait to hear what her little voice is going to sound like!)
-she's kind of established with us that she only likes a half hour-45 minute catnap a few times a day. Not a nice long nap a couple times a day. Which we will discuss this with our doc today and see what he thinks about it, but I've tried putting her down for a good long nap, in her swing, in her pack n play, and even in her bed and it never fails that she's wide-awake in less than an hour and seems to be fairly content. I was really frusterated by this at first because I thought all babies have a couple 2-3 hour nap times each day. But Emma is doing so well at night going to bed somewhere between 8:30-10:00 and getting a good 8-9 hours in before getting up again. So we'll see.....
Several things to discuss with Dr. Wehr today so we're anxious to talk with him and get all of Emma's stats!!! And we'll let you know how it goes!!!!
Wish us luck!!

I'm not "perfect"

I'm glad I am learning very early on that things don't always happen by the book. You can plan all you want to and you may think you know how you will handle different situations that arise, but you really don't. It makes me think of the phrase, 'if you want to hear God laugh, tell Him your plans!' I'm really working on learning to 'go with the flow,' and to be more flexible and forgiving of others and especially myself, when things don't go as I thought they might. Emma might not smile and coo at everyone who holds her, she may not take "perfectly" schedules naps, she may not be "perfectly" content to just sit in her bouncer by herself for hours at a time. But she can still be perfect. Every baby is so different and everyone's idea of the "perfect" little baby is just not the same. I have been so hard on myself since Emma was born, wanting to just hole-up at home because Emma might fuss and people would think I'm not doing a very good job with her. But I am learning that everyone has their moments, no one is a perfect parent, and yes sometimes I might be that frazzled mom in the Wal-mart checkout line with a screaming baby, hair and make-up not done, and spit up all over my shirt. But Emma is a healthy girl and I am still a good mom. I'm not saying this in retaliation of what someone said to me.....I just needed to say it to myself;p
Now a few more pictures of our perfect little princess!!

Mid-July update on Emma

Quick Update on Emma-bear ♥

*has starting cooing and smiling a lot:)
*having a little more separation anxiety when mommy leaves
*starting sucking her top lip (I think she just likes the sound it makes)
*starting to establish a good nighttime routine (we're still working on getting better naps established......)
*mainly bottle-feeding at this point, she's not liking to nurse much anymore
*loves being bounced and rocked
*she likes to watch us make silly faces. She is so alert and is studying everything she sees
*has started to figure out she can move her arms, but she doesn't have the hand-eye coordination to control them. This results in her bon-king herself in the face on accident:( She has started grabbing ahold of hair, clothes, blankets, etc

Sorry this was a quickie!!!
