Emma Rae is growing! I'm sure it's no surprise to you mommies of little ones out there, but for this first timer, I am continually amazed at how fast our baby girl is growing and changing. The days before Emma seem like a lifetime ago and I wonder what we did with all of our free time! Life with Emma is hectic, challenging, and ever changing. But it is also beautiful, rewarding, and exciting. I feel like in front of my eyes, our Emma is going from a baby to a little girl. I found myself looking forward to each of her month "birthdays" but I'm struggling with the impending 6 months... That seems really big.
Today I introduced Emma to applesauce and riding in the stroller without the carseat. The apples weren't as big of a hit as bananas. (She almost inhaled those:) And her first big girl stroller ride was quite a success. All the fun of a nice fall walk without the drama of getting her into the carseat. Another big change for us is the end of breastfeeding. Emma still gets breastmilk occasionally (from what I had frozen) but is primarily a formula baby now. She pretty much weaned herself and I will admit I was a-okay with it once she got those first teeth!! We made it 5 months and I am just fine with that!
I hope all of you are enjoying this Indian summer as much as we are! I hope to get some yardwork done this afternoon now that RJ is home.
Best of FALL to you All,
and hopefully you'll hear from us again soon!!!
