Welcome 2012

It is not with great joy I welcome the new year, but I am ready for the feeling of a fresh start that comes with January 1. As a family, we have had some trying times the last couple of months, but God is still faithful and remains in control. Not only that, but He is also still loving, still forgiving, still providing, and still good. I could not be more thankful for these truths!
I have never been one to make New Year's resolutions, but there are several things that I hope to spend more time in prayer about and working more diligently at. More importantly than my determination to spend some quality time on my new elliptical machine:), I plan to spend more time reading God's word and filling up my heart and my head on His words and His instruction. In 2012 I want to worry less and trust more, and I am convinced that to truly do so will require me to spend more time filling up on the words of the bible.
I am also recommitting myself to, in 2012, be the very best mommy to Emma Rae that I can be, and to be the mama the God wants me to be. I know I cannot be perfect in anyone's eyes, but I want to do my best:) She deserves nothing less.
Speaking of Emma, she was thoroughly spoiled on her 2nd Christmas:) Her grandparents, aunt, uncles, and cousins did a great job making sure she didn't go without anything! I am currently trying to rearrange the house to accommodate her growing personal toy store! Some of her fav's were: her flashlight form Mommy and Daddy, her tupperware from Nana, her "pretties" from her Auntie and Uncle Derek, her princess table and chairs from Grammy and Grandpa, her little people doll house from Gigi, and her Barbie Jeep from Uncle Tom.
Mommy and Daddy were pretty spoiled too; (daddy got a new playstation and mommy got tickets to a sold-out concert:). But more importantly we got lots of family time and were so blessed that daddy had the whole week of Christmas off! We spent the Christmas weekend here in Sully and were able to see lots of family and friends, and spent New Year's weekend in Carroll seeing RJ's family too. Mommy and Daddy were even able to sneak out to a movie New Year's Eve:) We are so blessed to have 2 sets of family who love and support us and love our daughter (almost) as much as we do:)
I wish you all a healthy and happy New Year!! May God Bless you all!
