So I've been boycotting writing in my blog about her turning 11 months because it's the last time before it becomes "1 Year Old." I have so many thoughts and emotions I've been sorting out that I'm not even sure how to get them all written down. (That and the fact that I have an 11 month old:)
Miss Emma: she is cute as ever, more expressive than most babies her age, and getting so tall! She is taking about 5-10 steps at a time, I don't think I can quite say she is walking yet.....she still has to pull herself up onto something to get going, but the more steps she takes the more excited she gets and once she's off she goes SO fast! She will be running in no time.
At about 11 months + a week she started fighting her bottles, she would take a drink and push it away. So we tried putting her formula in a sippy cup which she was doing great with water and juice. But as soon as she got a taste, she threw it down and spit it out. So after double-checking with the Doc, we switched cold turkey over to whole milk. She wasn't crazy about the taste at first and the fact that it wasn't as warm, but within a couple days she was drinking it very well. During the day we gave it to her in her sippy's, and at night we tried putting it in her bottles, but the bottles didn't go well. So we thought, hey, why not wean from the bottle now as well! I was thrilled!!! Within a week we had no more formula or bottles and I feel free:) The whole process was much easier than I thought it would be, although I know that is not always the case.
We've since pretty much given up baby food too. She eats whatever we are eating (within reason). A few favorites of Emma's: strawberries, bananas, vanilla wafers, chicken, yogurt, french fries, mashed potatoes, and peas. She can't figure out how to chew lunchmeat or hamburger yet, so most of that ends up on the floor, and she will not eat cheese no matter how hard I try....
to be continued...
